Some of you may know, I dig Motley Crue. Who doesn’t like 80′s hair metal? Sorry, I’m a kid of the 80′s I love ALF, British Knights, and one of the greatest 80′s movies, RAD. So a couple of us went nuts and did it right for Motley Crue.

Hawaii revisted

I just don’t think I did my trip to Hawaii justice. I watched the sun set on a couple islands down there, Oahu, Kauai, and Maui. Here are a couple pics for your visual stimulation. For the rest check out my Flickr page. I’ve also pointed out a couple things I really loved there.

Couple props to give:

In Oahu, really kick it in Honolulu. That city has way more to offer than you think. Don’t even think about going to Oahu and not checking out the North Shore. Of course, don’t forget Pearl Harbor. Also, have some Kona coffee.

Maui, drive the road to Hana. Although it’s one hell of a crazy drive. It’s absolutely worth it. At the half way point, there’s a small road side stop on the right side. They have the best Pineapple you’ll ever have. I highly recommend stopping there. Also, sounds corny but take the bike trip down the Haleakala volcano. Riding down a volcano on a modified beach cruiser doesn’t seem right. Trust me, as long as you stay in your lane your straight. We took the sunrise ride with Maui Mountains Cruisers (http://www.mauimountaincruisers.com).

Kauai, hands down the most beautiful place I’ve ever been lucky enough to see. It’s so green and lush there, initially your eyes just wont believe what they’re actually seeing. Yes, that amazing. After all Kauai, is where they filled a huge chunk of the Jurassic Park movies. Do you remember the fields and jungle scenes in that movie? If you want to surf and take a lesson. Go to Garden Island Surf School. We all got a few great waves. I cant remember our instructor, but just ask for the kid from Florida. Kauai is filled with an amazing landscape Waimea Canyon, Napali Coast, and the beaches of course. But dont even think about leaving without having a Puka Dog. I wont give it all away, but they’re basically a Hawaiian hotdog ( and they have a veggie version).

I’ve really been out of touch with the blog for some time now. But just like a boomerang, I’m back. So I’ll be posting all the neat places I’ve been in the past few months and some truly interesting things my eyes have come across.

Communicating with consumers for good

While I kicked around my neighborhood and walked around, I ran into to this store in the East village. The store is called Good December . Good, seems to be a sort of community pop up that showcases all kind of great products. What I really loved about this idea is how this space was used to showcase all kinds of great products, products that were great for the environment. Things like truly recycled furniture, neat bio soaps, and even an old school style pedal to make power exhibit.

After I checked out the place, I noticed they had a DJ and make your own popcorn bar. I really thought for a Windows sponsored project, Bill Gates would be proud. I’ve gotta give it to the Windows promotion people. This was one damn good idea to associate a stale brand like Microsoft with.

Ho Ho Ho for Santacon 2007

So Sarah and I always try to come back home to NYC. We finally got out of Boston for the weekend and are here now. Sarah dragged me out of bed this morning to join her on one of her favorite NYC run loops, along the water and up to Chelsea Piers. After, she was smoking me and I could barely breathe. I noticed a huge sea of Santa’s chillin by the W. 10 st pier. As we got a little closer and I finally caught my breath, I asked one of the loud and rowdy Santas, what was up with this gathering of this seasonal goodness.

He told me it’s Santacon 2007!!! Ho, Ho, Hoooo. I really wish I had my camera, but at 9am on a Saturday morning, grabbing my camera, is the last thing Im thinkin about. Santacon (http://www.santacon.com/nyc/), is basically a gathering of a couple hundred santa’s or what every super crazy festive outfit you can find. Then they all go on one big booze fest around the city. Looks like an awesome time. Maybe next year I’ll find a costume and get involved.

Waterville Valley, and a down jacket

Just to kick off the snowboard season, my homeboy Nick and I headed up to New England shred hot spot, Waterville Valley in New Hampshire. It was a pretty damn cold day, glad I was rocking my Burton down, thanks to my lady for hookin that up. I’ve gotta say and Im sure you’ve heard it before, Burton really does make some solid products. If you have the green, I recommended the Burton down jacket, uber waterproof, and ridiculously warm. I often just wear a t-shirts and just the jacket.

I think it’s really a great thing when I see more and more younger riders really being able to excel in the sport. Some of you may have heard of Waterville Academy (http://www.wvbbts.org/wva/index.html). They’ve really had a hand in pumping out some serious riders. They pretty much take over the hill and it’s a great vibe.

When I was younger, I almost went to the Carrabassett Valley Academy (http://www.gocva.com/snowboard.asp) in Maine. But, unfortunately leaving all of my friends and helping my parents round up a truck load of cash for tuition, really isn’t the easiest thing to do when you’re 15.

Long live the shred.

Post Thanksgiving, in my neighborhood

I had a couple days off from the grind, so I went to the cabin and chilled out with my parents for a minute. My parents friends from NJ just bought a house not that far from our cabin. My parents kept telling me about how crazy this barn space is that their friends just built. So, they we’re having a party and we stopped by for some chips, dip, and a bottle of wine. Yes, good red can go down fast.

Black Friday is for slackers

Just kidding. Some of you that know me, know that pretty much my number 1 most favorite thing in the world is snowboarding. So any chance I can get to ride, I jump all over it.

Instead of getting frustrated with traffic, hot malls, angry people and headaches, I went the complete opposite way this Black Friday, I went to the mountains. I met up with my buddy Chris and his bro at my old hill Belleayre (http://www.belleayre.com/).

Belleayre really isn’t the biggest mountain around, it doesn’t have all the best gear in the pro shops and the food is pretty average. But the reason I always like to hit up Belleayre for a shred, is the never ending good times. Everytime, I’ve ever gone ( even though, I used to teach there) I leave smiling.

Crazy how simple things can really make you smile.

Apples in the fall

One of my absolute favorite things to do in the fall is go apple picking with my lady. We’ve been going to Hicks Orchard (www.hicksorchard.com) in Granville NY for the past couple years now and it’s really the place to go.

Nothing like picking apples and looking over to the see the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont smiling back at you.
